MANILA, Philippines – Big and rising names from the music industry gathered on Thursday, September 12 (Wednesday, September 11 in the US) at the UBS Arena in New York for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Taylor Swift leads the nominees with 12 nods, including nominations for video of the year and artist of the year. She’s trailed by Post Malone with 11 nods and Eminem in third place with eight nominations. Other artists with several nominations include SZA, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter.
Hosted by Megan Thee Stallian, the highly-anticipated show will also feature performances from BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Chapell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Camila Cabello.
Over 20 artists were first-time nominees, including Tyla, Chapell Roan, and Gracie Abrams.
