In the country’s most vote-rich region, Calabarzon, political families continue to dominate after the 2025 elections.

Of the five winning gubernatorial candidates, two are incumbents (Rizal’s Nina Ynares and Quezon’s Helen Tan), one is a former governor who made a successful comeback (Batangas’ Vilma Santos-Recto), one is a political scion (Cavite’s Abeng Remulla), and one is a former lawmaker and broadcaster who is not from a dynasty (Laguna’s Sol Aragones).

Rappler’s political reporter Dwight de Leon, who covered key races in the region, delivers post-mortem reports of the elections in those provinces.

We compiled the video reports in this story.
