CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines – More than two-thirds of the representatives of Mindanao’s congressional districts signed in favor of the impeachment of their fellow Mindanaoan, Vice President Sara Duterte, on Wednesday afternoon, February 5.
Just under a third of the Mindanao district representatives or 31.6% did not sign the impeachment resolution, showed a list based on a map published by the Philippine Center of Investigative Journalism (PCIJ).
Based on the PCIJ map, Davao City, the political bailiwick of the Duterte political dynasty, had the most with three representatives not signing it, followed by Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte, each with two.
Two others from Sultan Kudarat did not support Duterte’s impeachment.
Elsewhere, Agusan del Norte, Basilan, Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, Lanao del Norte, and Zamboanga City each had a representative not signing the impeachment document.
Here’s a list of congressional district representatives from Mindanao who did not sign the impeachment document:

Duterte’s impeachment, however, won the support of a substantial majority — around 68% — of Mindanao’s congressional representatives.
They were among the 215 of the 306 members of the House of Representatives who supported the resolution outlining the articles of impeachment, indicative of the Duterte family’s weakened political influence over Mindanao’s lawmakers.
Agusan del Sur in the Caraga region, and Northern Mindanao’s Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, including Cagayan de Oro, contributed the highest number of signatories.
In contrast, provinces like Sarangani and South Cotabato in the Soccsksargen, and Sulu delivered two key votes each.
The small provinces of Camiguin, Dinagat, and Tawi-Tawi each contributed one representative each.
Lanao del Norte was split with only one of the two Dimaporo siblings representing the province in the lower chamber signing in favor of the impeachment.
Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur, meanwhile, stood out for their collective support for Duterte’s impeachment — several lawmakers from both provinces added weight to the push, indicating a bloc of agreement within the Zamboanga Peninsula region.
Likewise, Lanao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, each with two representatives, showed a concerted, unified stance on the impeachment.
