MANILA, Philippines – Directed by Jet Leyco, Chapter 1: Born To Win docuseries is an origin story featuring BINI’s journey from ABS-CBN’s idol training platform Star Hunt Academy in 2019 to their first sold-out concert, BINIverse, in June 2024.

888 Blooms were invited to the advanced screening in Quezon City on September 23.

Members Jhoanna Robles, Colet Vergara, Maloi Ricalde, and Mikha Lim graced the red carpet prior to the third screening at 7 pm.

“For the casuals, an intro. For Blooms and OGs, a gift,” journalist and ABS-CBN anchor Jeff Canoy shared in his Instagram story.

The docuseries starts with the girls looking back at their childhood dreams, inviting fans to also experience the feeling of trying to achieve one’s goals while navigating challenges.

Highlighting their rigorous training, and their struggles and triumphs as they worked towards becoming the “nation’s girl group,” the first episode encompasses the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABS-CBN shutdown, the “Pantropiko” dance craze, all the way to the first leg of their three-day concert at the New Frontier Theater.

The series delves into the emotional side of the members, showing their fears and frustrations, allowing fans to see them not just as the glitzy, synchronized performers on stage, but also as individuals just trying to hone and make the most of their gifts, and the opportunity they had been given through ABS-CBN’s platform.

There are scenes that will certainly make a serious “Bloom” or BINI fan shed a tear, as the series shows the members’ sacrifices in their quest for stardom.

“Karera,” one of the group’s biggest hits, also takes center stage, as the girls highlight it as the “theme song” of their journey.

At the end of the credits, the series revealed a teaser for new BINI merch coming in October, as well as the title of the next episode: “Here With You.”

BINI will hold their Grand BINIverse concert on November 16 and 17 at the Araneta Coliseum, the second performance date marking the first anniversary of “Pantropiko.”

The first installment of Chapter 1: Born To Win will be aired on iWantTFC for free starting September 26. – Rappler.com
